On March 27 and 28, the last transnational meeting of the SAFER Behind the wheel project was held in Sofia. The partners reviewed the activities by package and the results achieved so far. The emphasis was on the finished training program for young drivers and youth workers, after which the discussions focused on implementing future trainings. An overview was also made of the activities for disseminating the project results – the development of the YouTube channel and the presence on various social platforms. The partners from Slovenia and Greece participated with presentations on their work on the project.
The second day was dedicated to an early discussion and clarifications on additional organisational questions. After that, the partners visited the Sofia Traffic Police, where they saw live screens set up under the project, showing the stories of participants interviewed in the three countries and relatives of accident victims. This was followed by a meeting with the Head of the Traffic Police Department in Sofia, Commissioner Nikolay Krusharski, at which more information about the project and good practices from the three countries were shared.
