Beginnings of Zavod VOZIM in 2010 are linked to road safety and addressing the problem of high number of young people injured in road accidents in Slovenia. From a small group of first youth workers – paraplegics and quadriplegics injured in road accident, we have evolved in organization focused on nonformal national youth work, prevention, inclusion of persons with fewer opportunities.

To this day one of our strong suits is social inclusion and empowerment of persons with fewer opportunities – disabled wheelchair users (paraplegics and quadriplegics) to become youth workers involved in preventive youth work and therefore breaking the stereotype of disability.

Based on perceived needs among youth in general and the disabled (injured paraplegics, quadriplegics) we focus our activities on these main areas that are intertwined:

– effective prevention (in the field of road safety, harmful alcohol and drug use, accidents);

– youth work (prevention, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and sport; sustainable mobility);

– social inclusion of persons with fewer opportunities (disabled injured in road and other accidents that result in spinal cord injury and therefore life in wheelchair (social integration

– empowerment for preventive youth work; help with their entering to the labour market; anti discrimination);

– sustainable mobility (awareness raising),

– social marketing campaigns for changing behaviour and raising awareness

BAZK was established in 2006 to support victims of accidents and their families, as well as development activities to prevent and reduce road accidents. We participate in changing the legislation related to transport and road safety, as well as conducting dozens of campaigns related to training children, children’s teachers, young drivers, and students. We have installed billboards and electronic boards on which clips and documentaries on road safety are broadcast.
