On Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the hall of Theater A’part Plovdiv, we held a youth worker training event as part of the SAFER behind the Wheel project. Together with the audience (youth workers, actors, media representative, representatives of local NGOs, family member of a person who lost their life in a traffic accident), we discussed issues related to road safety and driving after alcohol and drug use, we presented the tips and consequences, as well as possible prevention activities, existing campaigns and of course our collection of stories. Our program continued with a second session dedicated to two theatrical practices – Theatre of the Oppressed and Verbatim Theatre. After a brief theoretical part, young actors from the theatre participated in practical activities where they felt the power of these two types of theatre and their impact by performing some stories shared by participants in interviews. Their verbatim style monologues with stories, which we have prepared for the purpose, are going to be published as stories’ dramatizations on YouTube shorts and on Instagram.
